In a bout sure to cause some commentating confusion, ( has learned from sources close to the event that Paulo Thiago (11-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) and Thiago Alves (16-5 MMA, 9-3 UFC) have verbally agreed to meet at UFC 107 in December.

Sounds like a great fight, I think Alvews wins this fight, only if he finishes Paulo in the 1st or 2nd round. If it goes to the 3rd or the distance, I think Paulo Thiago wins.

Alves by KO early

Easy win, rebound fight. Paulo Thiago got lucky vs Kos IMO. Alves proved that he has what it takes to go into deep rounds, he made GSP go to decision for gods sake!

I got Thiago on this one.

(cricket sounds)

ok neg prop me on this bad joke

I don't get it, he's 24 I think, and lost only 1 fight. The UFC must either hate this guy or try to sacrifice his name to Alves and bring him back up the ladder later?

Good fight, but I'd rather see Kos get a rematch against Alves. too see how he would do with a full training camp rather then just stepping in. Or maybe even Alves/Fitch

postman » Posted 6/23/07 7:57:00PM

I thought Thiago was already tabbed for a fight did I miss something?

Edit : Never mind he lost to Fitch

I'm scratching my head on this one too. So Alves takes GSP to a decision and gets Paulo They must want to build him back up quick. I also agree with seanfu's comments about the ufc and what they are doing with Paulo. Totally confused with the whole situation

Billy Madison-

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in the playground is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no props, and may the mods have mercy on your soul.

I don't like it. I think it's completely unfair to throw this up and comer against every top 5 WW in the division. I mean no one in the UFC has had to face as many high caliber opponents early on as Paulo has.

I feel bad for Paulo Thiago, this is not even going to be fare wow poor guy. The odds of this fight are going to be sick, I'll probably end up dropping money on Paulo just in case he pulls a KOS lol but i don't see it happening.

postman » Posted 6/23/07 7:57:00PM

He is into it. In the UFC magazine they said he was excited to fight Finch. I feel bad for these top guys who have to fight a unproven fighter who seems to be pretty good. They lose and there stock goes to the floor they win...."well he should have won who did he fight agian?"

nickcuc547 » Posted 1/27/07 12:52:00PM

man they aren't taking it easy on paulo, he is turning into the joe daddy stevenson of the welterweight division in just a few fights.

jae_1833 » Posted 7/19/07 11:27:00AM

Paulo T. rematching Kos makes no sense he's due to fight Trigg....but there are so many other guys that match up well with him it's sickening.
Ex Paulo: Dan Hardy, Marcus Davis, Chris Lytle.....
Ex Alves: Jon Fitch, Matt Serra, Dustin Hazelett

I think this Alves Paulo match is bad.

I think I'll also take Thiago to where oh where is Thiago Thiago? Surely there is one out there.
