GSP ADMITS INJURY WAS VERY BAD DURING TITLE WIN   [View Full Version]
emfleek » Posted 11/18/07 4:54:00PM

On Saturday night, Georges St. Pierre took another step towards proving that he belongs in the same sentence as other legends of sports history such as Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretzky, and Muhammed Ali. But when he faced Thiago Alves at UFC 100, he spent almost half the bout with an injury that would have put most others on the sideline, asking for the fight to be stopped.

Am I the only one who is glad GSP didn't hit Alves with his groin?

Haha! I love Greg Jackson so much!

But yea, that was fantastic to watch. Just to see a fighter, be tough, he just sucked it up. He is the champion for many reasons, but this is why he will be champion for a long time.

It was pretty obvious that he was in a lot of discomfort after the fight. I would prefer he not get injured at all though.

Does anyone have the final striking numbers for this fight? I'm curious to see how many times GSP actually got hit.

No one can say GSP is a quitter.....You could tell after the fight he was in a lot of pain and he did a great job of not showing it during the fight. I just hope it isn't real bad and he can get healed fast so he can fight again soon.

Wow...I probably would've bet money that he didn't land more than 20 strikes or so. I didn't think I was that inebriated!

Off subject but I love how GSP danced around the idea of fighting Anderson Silva. He wants time to gain the weight when BJ never ask for time to gain weight also he said that skill will always over come size and strength. If he wants to make a legacy for him self he should be jumping at the chance to fight Anderson.

I know that but I sure as hell don't remember him landing 80+ strikes.

if you watch the fight again, its weird how the first thing he says to thiago is "i pulled my groin"

i know he said alves was his toughest fight in the interview with joe....it just seems like a weird first post fight comment to your opponent
