If Baron comes in healthy and prepared he will win...but Emerson is a tough dude...hard to finish and always brings it.

Emerson by KO if I had to pick right now!!

If baron doesnt work on his takedowns he wont be able to force the fight where he needs it to go to win.

Emersons sprawl is pretty good, i think he nets the stoppage.

BJ Penn beat Frankie Edgar more times than Benson Henderson beat Frankie Edgar.

From what I've seen of both guys, I think I'm leaning more towards Emerson, late stoppage or a UD.

Close fight. Emerson prolly takes it if he can ward off the takedowns.

Not even interested in this fight, neither is a serious contender. Loser is GONE!

this is a very uninteresting fight in the big picture of the ufc.

but, these type of fights usually get finished by someone. as of now i'm really not sure who to go with, not much faith in either fighter.

On Saturday, reported that a match-up between lightweights David Baron and Rob Emerson was likely for UFC 101 on Aug. 8 in Philadelphia, citing sources close to negotiations.

However, a subsequent message from a representative in Baron's camp stated that the fight was off.

In email sent to MMAInsider, the representative said Baron had recently taken a new job and was undergoing "intensive on-the-job training" until August or September. The French fighter would not be available until October or November at the earliest.

"Because of this, David is likely to be released by the UFC," the representative stated.

Baron, 16-3, last appeared at UFC 89, where he lost to Jim Miller by submission.
