Reference to how he looked after the fight with Paul Kelly at 95:

Good fight just wasn't good enough, was again impressed with Kelly's performance. I still think Kelly has a bright future with UFC.

Ouch. He got pretty banged up from the looks of it. Can't wait to watch this fight. Kelly is tough.

I heard Spike didn't air it on the replay, I saw it live on the Setanta stream. Had trouble telling the guys apart at times but it was a very good brawl. Kelly really busted Troy open with some solid elbows.

breakdown5 » Posted 1/15/07 7:35:00PM

Yeah it was the only fight they didn't show on the spike broadcast.

Fortunately I found the fight pretty quickly online and added it to our MMA Videos Section:

I got the fight off the internet as well. Just haven't had a chance to watch it yet.

I was actually impressed with both fighters. Troy showed alot of heart. Hopefully he's not cut from the roster

Every fight on this card was exciting. It will be interesting to see if both guys stay at 170 because Im sure they might be better for 155 like rogan said.

That cut over the eye on troy was huge during the fight.

Oh yeah, KILLER BODY SHOTS by Kelly.

copcopps » Posted 4/4/08 4:46:00PM

wow I think the Mendolin got a rude awakening

gartface » Posted 7/29/07 7:00:00PM

Both guys apparently have great chins after watching that fight. But just like anyone that fights, you have a weak right midsection(liver). Kelly exploited those body shots, and Rude kept coming forward swinging and landing. This fight was awesome.

It also seems like Troy's ground game has improved by leaps and bounds since the Ultimate Fighter.

Man,he got busted up pretty good there,I'm looking forward to seeing this fight, sounds like from whats been previously posted that it was a slugfest.

Wolfenstein » Posted 12/13/07 3:31:00AM

Yeah he got busted up. I was surprised they didn't stop the fight because that cut was in a bad spot--by the third round it didn't matter where the cut was, because his eye was swollen shut.

To me it was fight of the night. Paul was close several times to scoring a TKO, and Mandaloniz was close to submitting Paul on more than one occasion. Much better than Joe and Diego--where neither fighter even stunned the other the entire 15 minutes.

I hope Paul does eventually drop to 155, but I think he's going to be hard-pressed to be succesful in the UFC if he doesn't begin to evolve as a fighter.

EvenFlow » Posted 11/9/08 6:40:00PM

I cant remember who it was but someone here complained that Kelly should be fighting tougher guys. Well after watching that fight I'd say he disagrees with his previous statement.

Styles » Posted 9/13/07 6:01:00PM

I give Troy alot fo credit. I was able to catch the fight live and was probally one of the best fights I seen all night, Troy nearly knocked Kelley out and nearly subbed him a few times. Like I said in another thread, I give more credit to exciting fighters then the borign fighters that do just enough to edge out a win. Troy is gonna be a tough dude.

Twenty20Dollars » Posted 6/21/07 4:27:00PM

Yeah it looked like Troy dropped Kelly in the opening minutes. I wish this fight would have broadcasted it would have been great to everybody to see.
