It seems that former UFC light heavyweight champion, “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” Tito Ortiz, has finally signed with rival promotion Affliction in time for their next PPV event on October 11th.

Although no details have been released at this time about the size of the contract, the promotion must surely have talked Ortiz’s terms down from the massive figures originally discussed.

Although just a rumour a few weeks back, this deal seems to have been finalised and according to mmapreview.com, an announcement is due in the next couple of days.

With no creditable victories in the past few years and seemingly being more interested in a celebrity lifestyle, UFC President Dana White will not be losing any sleep over Ortiz’s decision to fight for a rival promotion.

Ortiz vs Babalu has to happen. I hope it does anyway, ther is some bad blood there, and I think it would be not only a marketable fight, but a good one at that.

i see babalu vs ortiz in oct as well
i wonder what the terms and money were to the deal

I know Tito is a big name, but he was asking for out of control levels of cash. His past fights haven't warranted the high opinion of himself. He will never regain his previous glory because he has not really advanced as a fighter, (although that triangle on Machida came out of nowhere). He can't hang with any of the top dogs in the division.

I don't think he can handle Babalu. I hope they make this fight and Babalu proceeds to destroy Tito.

Haha ortiz had to sign for lower money.

but ortiz vs babalu isnt going to happen, because babalu is fighting bobby at the strikeforce playboy event for the title.

Bobby Southworth? Hopefully Babalu trashes him. I dunno why but Southworth seems to just hit that nerve, anyone who watched Season 1 might understand me, or anyone who saw him act like he was a winner after him and James Irvin went through the cage.

Am I the only one who thinks Tito and Babalu are not relevant fighters? I don't like either one of these guys and I think they both are going to be most famous for being beat up by Chuck.

actually both of them are in my top 10 favorite fighters. i don't know about babalu, but ortiz will go down being most famous for his long rivalry with ken shamrock.

On MMA live last week, they said Affliction's and Tito's numbers were very far apart. Glad they came to terms since I'd like to see him verses Babalu or maybe 'lil Nog.

The thing is, salary often goes by how many butts you put in the seats, not only by talent.

Tito has been the headliner on the two largest PPV's in UFC history and it's biggest UFN ratings. Still,he's going to need some big wins for that drawing power to keep up.

Ha ha although the memories of Chuck whoopin Tito's ass twice will never leave me, I gotta say that Tito is still very relevent., skill wise he is still good enough to make for a good fight with just about anyone....I mean you usually get a fairly solid performance from him. I have always thought that Babalu has the skills to be a threat , it just seems like he cant string together the big wins that really propel a career.

I hate to admit it, because I hate the prick but I'm gonna miss watching Tito fight. Never in my life did I think I would ever root for Ortiz but when he fought Machida I wanted him to win....I felt dirty......so I immediately played the video of Liddell beating the tar out of him and felt a little better.

Anyway Ortiz/Babula could be a good fight so I look forward to it, maybe I will even order the PPV

I would think Tito's long rivalry with Ken Shamrock and the Lion's Den is why he's famous.

and I'll always remember Babalu as the first person to beat Shogun and his UFC 74 fight with David Heath.

I love Babalu and i just hate Ortiz. i hope this fight happends and that Babulu gets him in a rnc and doesn't let it go ala David Heath POW next thing you know Tito huge head just exploded lol

good now i i can finally see babalu teach tito a lesson.

I understand this fight but what I really want to see is Tito vs. Lil Nog. I think that could be a war that goes the distance.
