Stand by world and bear witness to one of the most devestating punchers i have everseen. Neil "old school" Wain. He is one of the best up and coming mixed martial artists in the UK at the moment his record speaks for itself 5 - 0 all by knock out, all in the first round, so his opponent Antoni Hardonk had better book his hospital bed now cos he aint going to leave the octagon under his own steam. Neil or Wainy as we refer to him once delayed an entire nights fight card because he hit his opponent that hard it took paramedics nearly 20 minutes to treat and bring around his unconcious adversary, so watch out world if you blink you may just miss the knockout of the night.

Sherdog has him listed at 4-0 but either way still impressive, We need some new heavyweights to do well so I hope he does well.

i dont see antoni hardonk posing any problems for him.

From the fights I have watched on Wain, he has a lot of power and aggression, and not the technique that Hardonk has. Hardonk is a K-1 level Kickboxer with an insane low kick, if Wain runs into one of those leg kicks he will lose balance and fall down. I dont see how Wain outstrikes Hardonk, he wont be able to brawl with Hardonk like he has with his opponents.

, Hardonk is my dark horse of the division, IMO i think he has the best stand up in the division period. standing i'd take him over pretty much the whole division. all of his fights that have been standing have lasted no more than a couple seconds (granted not against top comp).............his biggest downfall is his wrestling, if you watch his fights he actually has decent jits (however, only offensive, no defence)...as soon as mir took him down he went for the omoplata, but couldnt defend a simple sub, his problem is training with Gracie, which draws him away from wrestling, if he could just get a solid TK defence, he could be extremely dangerous, He needs to stop focusing so much on jits and train more wrestling.

However, although he has alot of potential, his chances of succeeding (holding the title) in the HW division arent that great, just way too many Big wretlers (lesnar, cain, carwin, etc..)

My dream match up for Hardonk was against cro cop when he was in the UFC, although cro cop is great, i'd take hardonk over him, now the best match up for him is Kongo, whom i think hardonk would destroy standing, but im pretty sure kongo knows that and would try to take him down.

Ya.... I don't know about that... I'm sure Wain has a lot of power.. But Hardonk is going to be a serious step up in competition for him...

Wain's opponents:
Yann Marquez----------------- 0-1
Ryes Iles------------------------ 0-3
Colin Sexton--------------------2-6
Victor Aniolek------------------ 1-3

I don't doubt that he's a tough guy, but he's never faced a man with a winning record... And their combined record is a only 3-13... that's not good...

Hardonk's got kickboxing skills like Neil's never seen in the cage and it could pose a big problem for him... He might fair well, but it's hard to tell from his previous fight because his competition really wasn't up to par...

I REALLY hope he does well, as the UFC needs better HW's

hotrodttt » Posted 8/25/07 6:56:00PM

Yeah Antoni is Sooooo underestimated, he's Improved so much, I mean he Trains Kickboxing with Ernesto Hoost and Trains Jui Jitsu with Renzo Gracie. He was setting up an Omoplata on Frank Mir iin their Fight so he's Working on his Jits, but I don't think this Fight will even come close to the Ground, if Neil charges like he usually does then he'll catch a Knee in the Face. And the Explosiveness of Antoni's Striking will Play a Key Roll in this Fight.

Hardonk 1st Round KO

I agree with what many have said before; Hardonk is definitely the most underrated HW in the UFC today.

That being said, I know absolutely nothing about Wain so let's hope for a solid fight!

I love it when people dig deeper then make sence of hype

I tried to prop but must share the love

If he was a JJ guy then sure he would probably beat Hardonk, but not a striker. I would like to have seen Cro Cop vs Hardonk, I think Cro Cop would beat him up now though, but before Cro Cop started training with Marijan Hardonk would have gotten the better of him.
