Posted 1/28/07 9:16:00PM First off, nice job. Looks like it took a lot of time and was done thoroughly. One mistake I did find was: Randy Couture def. Chuck Liddell via TKO, UFC 43. Defended 1X** Randy couture defeated Tito Ortiz at UFC 44 thus gaining the light heavyweight belt. P.S. very good post |

Posted 1/15/07 8:21:00AM Good post mate, thanks for that, makes you realise how little the Pride champs actually defend the belts. |

Posted 1/15/07 8:21:00AM Is anybody up for making a list of who the title defenses were against? Would be a great information source if it was kept updated for new, old and forgetful fans. |

JUST CLICK HERE It looked pretty accurate. Has the fix that someone mentioned about Couture and Mark Coleman was the first HW champ. The Superfight didn't become the HW title |

Posted 2/4/07 7:47:00PM Not copy paste at all... it did however take some research, I didn't know it all off the top of my head... |

Posted 2/4/07 7:47:00PMI will eventually try to put that in there... |

Posted 2/4/07 7:47:00PMI never really trust wikipedia though... and I'm pretty sure the superfight belt did turn into the HW belt at UFC 12 when Severn lost to Coleman, correct me if I'm wrong though... |

Posted 2/3/07 11:32:00AM I'm not basing that off wikipedia though. I remember being called the first HW champ back in the day Also Here is PRIDE's It doens't list the previous though. (Saku, Nog) |

Posted 2/4/07 7:47:00PM That because technically he was, when Shamrock and Severn wore the belt, it was called the superfight belt and it was an open weight division belt seeing as there was no weight classes in the early UFC. However when they decided to instate weight classes they had Coleman fight Severn (who was the current champion) to determine who would be the first true heavyweight champion, would Severn have won, I'm pretty positive it would have been seen as a title defence, and his crown would have been changed from spuerfight to heavyweight... I could be wrong in all of this, but it really matters very little seeing as all of the superfights (aside from Royce Gracie) where with fighters weighing over 200lbs (which was the start weight for HW at the time). |

I don't think Saku was ever a Pride champ...aside from the Saku belt ofcourse
