i think forrest should train with lawler and the hit squad they seem to be pretty evvective against the chute box style judging by last ngiths fight

I am going to pick Shogun but will probbly put money on Forrest only because the Pride guys have struggled in their first showing.

Shogun and Ninja are very different fighters.....namely Shogun is a top-tier LHW and possibly the best in his weight class.....Ninja is nowhere near as talented or as aggressive. Shogun by KO in the 2nd....

isn't forrest training with randy for this fight? to me, that makes him a whole lot more dangerous. working with arguably the best game planner in the sport can only be doing great things for forrest's game. not to mention that forrest knows the importance of this fight for his status in the lhw division while shogun may be overlooking griffin.

I swear you said the same arogant thing about CroCop......and look wat happened

I have seen Shogun fight,..i know that sometimes he is a little over agressive, and i know he can be taken down at will....i know Griffin has better hands....kicking advantage i would give to Shogun of course, but i woudnt be surprised in seeing Griffin win the leg kicking war either...plus griffin has the reach.....

heart will win this fight....and i have Griffin winning by Split

Feorrest better hope shogun doesn't like the cage. Your comparing a much younger, more well rounded, fighter to an uninspired vet, who doesn't seem to care anymore. Not really a fair comparison is it?

I think Shogun has overall better skills going in,but I won't count forrest out.
I think his keys to victory are to keep his hands up and counter strike everything Shogun throws at him.Forrest is very smart to be training with Randy for this fight. He's gonna need some solid wrestling, and he could win this fight if he can safely keep Shogun on his back and admisinster some lay in pray with a dash of ground and pound.

If its the same showgun who won the pride grand prix, then yeh, i have seen him fight. Of course i have seen him fight, like any fighter he has holes in his game. He's not indistructable. Forrest will go out to bang with this guy, its a no loose fight for griffin, lots to gain, nothing to loose. The ufc are taking a risk giving forrest to rua as a steppingstone to the the top three, forrest is very capable of the upset on showgun.

One thing I wonder about is the state of Chute Boxe and it's ability to get Shogun ready vs. Extreme Couture's preparation of Forrest. How has the exodus of Wandy affected the training of Chute Boxe? What mental effect does the departure of his mentor have on Shogun?

I've still got Shogun to win, but I'd feel alot easier about the pick if I knew all was well down there in Chute Boxe City.

He trained with Randy against Ramirez too and look what happened..... Forrest would go in throw a punch or a kick and start running. I dont think they practiced that with Randy.

Shogun will win because he has better stand-up and if Griffin takes him down Shogun has better ground game too. The only advantage I give to Griffin is that its Shoguns first time in the octagon..... that being said Shogun takes it by UD.
