An all-points bulletin was issued in London last night and a search-and-rescue mission was officially launched in hopes of finding anything resembling Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic’s once promising UFC career following his unanimous-decision loss to Cheick Kongo.

Cro Cop was on his way to a title shot. He came in to the UFC beating Eddie Sanchez and had he beat Gonzaga he would have faught Couture for the Heavyweight Championship. Now I don't see Cro Cop getting a title shot in the UFC. He didn't look the same against Kongo. Maybe it was the rib injury but he didn't look focused in the cage. He's going to have to work his way up now but he still has heart left in him. His career isint over by any means. Once he can adjust to the UFC he will be a force but who knows if that will happen.

That was a great article. I agrred with everything except for the part on Cro Cop being sent to another org on a loan transfer. I think alot of fans still want to see the Cro Cop that was so menacing and feared in the mma circles around the world. I have lost serious faith in Cro Cop but I'm rooting for him to finish his career on high note. He's far too young to be considered over the hill, but the way his last 3 fights have looked, Cro Cop is in his late 40s.

I think Cro Cop needs to drop to 205lbs. alot of talent there, but i think the overwhelming size of the HW's is getting to him. People don't fear his LHK anymore. every HW out there is going to want a piece of him. Its no good, i love cro cop with a passion. I hope he gets back on the right track.

Hmm, that article is overreacting a bit I think.
With the revalation that Cro Cop suffered a broken rib in the first round, I don't think we can count his performance on Saturday night as a true representation of where Cro Cop is at, and I certainly don't think his career is in tatters. Sounds like that article was written by a very bitter fair weather Cro Cop fan who is a bit gutted that Cro Cop isn't destroying people like he did in Pride.
Cro Cop ain't done yet.

He can't really use having his ribs broken during the fight as an excuse, since he broke them in the fight.
That's like saying Hcukc Liddel would have done better against Rampage if he didn't get knocked out.

Well according to reports, Mirko broke his rib while throwing a high kick. So the damage was not done by kongo. Look at how people are defending rampage, "he could probly beat shogun had he not broken his rib". Theres a double standard, if it happens to someone the general fans love everyone will defend them, but when the same thing happens to Mirko people jump to crazy conclusions.
