I love Randy. Huge fan. Watching him drub Tim "Swamp Thing" Sylvia was a thing of beauty. His wins over Tito, Chuck and Vitor were sweet as well.

That fight was almost a decade old. Randy himself has said he is constantly learning new things. That means the Randy we see tomorrow SHOULD be even better than what we saw against Tim.

That was actually a very good submission. He brought his leg over while Randy tried to trap it. That was almost as good as Fedor's 1 second transition to armbar against Mark Coleman, which is one of the most ridiculous ones I've seen, so quick. Randy really just got caught with his hand in there, and honestly, you can't stop that against some fighters. Look at Coleman-Fedor. Coleman laid a hand on the mat for 1 second, and the fight ended. Fedor transitioned like a god damn cat, and it was over. If Gonzaga can show that kind of skill, Couture will lose.

To even compare that fight from a decade ago with tomorrow's fight is just plain ridiculous.

I see this as being extremely competitive either way. No way RAndy comes in there without an up to date gameplan with the trainers he's got. Did anyone see all-access last night? He's coming prepared.

Not to mention that every round this goes past the 2nd, Randy's chances of winning goes up exponentially.

if gonzaga is as good as he looks i think randy could have some trouble. one thing though.... experience. gonzaga had one huge fight thats it. couture has more experience in my opinion than almost anybody. hes been on this stage for quite awhile. i think this alone has a huge impact

Did any of you guys catch Gonzaga's first fight in the UFC? He was gassed at the end of the 1st round and put on the worst performance I've ever seen until a desperation superman punch late in the fight.
Gonzaga hasn't been out of the 1st round since then and you guys think he'll last for 5 rounds???
Couture is gonna grind on him for 2 rounds and once the fatigue sets in on Gonzaga it should be easy pickings. If this fight goes past 1 round I don't see Gonzaga winning unless he slips a submission in off his back.
