In June 2004, Frank Mir won the UFC Heavyweight Championship by breaking Tim Sylvia’s arm. But a tragic motorcycle accident three months later kept Mir out of the game for nearly two years and led to having the title stripped.

Hope he's fit this time. He needs to be faster than he's been lately to get that takedown.

The motorcycle accident was most unfortunate and I hope that at the very least, Mir can return to his prior form. He may never be a HW champ in the UFC again, but the fact that he is back fighting after such a horrific injury is indicative of his ambition.
With that said.. Does that 'Mandalay Bay' sign have a glory hole or what? That picture cracked me right up.

I attempted to attach the image but it is over the kb limit.

I'd love to see Mir show what he's really capable of. He was such a great fighter, I would hate to see him go out on a bad note. And he's still so young...

A "tragic" motorcycle accident?! I have very little pity for any pro athlete who chooses to ride a bike, knowing the odds of getting into a serious wreck.

Trigg had some great insight on Mir during his radio show yesterday. He's down to 240 from what Trigg estimates, which is actually pretty damn good, and he said he was working ridiculous.

I'm actually waiting to see him at the weigh-ins before I make my predictions.

From what I hear, he's training everyday except for Fri/Sat when he manages some bouncers or something from what Trigg mentioned. But Trigg said he has had to be stopped from training because he's been going so hard.

He definitately looked the best I've seen him since the accident. I think I'll give him the benefit of the doubt tomorrow.
