Periodically, *********** will ask its writers to consider a question and to write a short response to that question. It's a feature we call the "*********** Roundtable Discussion." This week's question is: Does the American MMA judging system need revamping, and if so, how would you change it?

the american system is better to me - its a sport after all. it creates more order, in Pride theres a long ass 10 minute round, then 1 or 2 5 minute ones - at the end they're just like "that guy won". i feel like Pride had more BAD decisions (differenet from CLOSE decisions that are debateable). 10 point must scoring works fine to me.

umm, theres no way the american need revamped. Pride is gone cause oftheir lame judging system. Why would you make each round a different amount of time? It just doesnt have any point

They should scrap the judging system and go back to draws if a fight goes the distance. They should also get rid of the rounds.

I would like them to go to a sudden death round, no time limit, then you'd have people trying to finish fights in rounds 1,2,3 so they don't gas hard. I'm tired of tim sylvia, sean sherk, AA, all these boring fighters who seem tentitive or use the lay and pray. The UFC needs more Mirko's, more GSP's, more shoguns, more people who want to turn their opponent into just another HL reel.
