Interesting to see how much the WEC fighters make since it's owned by the UFC and the UFC doesn't pay fighters to well.

Im surprised Doerksen was paid £30,000 even though he lost.
If im correct in my assumption Sean Sherk was only paid £28,000 for retaining his UFC lightweight title at UFC 73! Does this seem fair?

No, it's not fair. Yet, lightweights have been underpaid for awhile now. We also don't know what Sherk got from sponsors and such. However, it is still unfair in my eyes as well.

Youve got a point! The WECs biggest star Urijah Faber only made $20,000 for defending his 145lb Title. How much do you think hed get paid if he was a 250lb heavyweight!

That's a great find.
These are good numbers compared to what the UFC was payin 3 years ago.
In the old days they had guys vacating belts to go fight for money.

always amazes me what these guys train and fight for. and so few of them have the natural ability to ever break into the big bucks, especially the smaller guys. i mean even if sherk fights 3-4 times a year hes gonna make a 100k, and hes the cream of the lw crop. just amazing. i wonder what the guys like faber get in endorsements? i bet not that much.
guess you have to really love it because from a financial perspective it makes little sense for most of these guys.

The reason those figures look so low is because those are only the numbers that they are forced to submit to the public. There are a substantial amount of bonuses and sponsorship dollars coming the fighters way. If they disclosed the exact amount then they would have to claim that exact amount for taxes, right. But wait a minute, thats not right, doesn't everybody declare the exact amount they made publicly and tell the truth when they do taxes. They wouldn't want to underpay their share of the taxes.

Dick Cheney would be proud of that statement. He just recently got a gift card from Haliburton to Wal-Mart for $500,000,000.  Anyways, I think Faber deserves a lot more than he gets. He's only ranked liked #10 by that other article, and he is very undisputed. Although I highly doubt that the payment is as low as they make it out to be, otherwise Jens Pulver wouldn't be having a WEC debut, he would still be fighting UFC and/or PRIDE. I hope UFC makes a featherweight division, I want to see Kid Yamamoto and Urijah Faber square off, after Kid gets done wrestling for the olympics of course.

Sherk still had an old contract, before the wages skyrocketed.

I think Curran should have been paid more...He is a top 10 FW, he has fought in PRIDE, UFC and IFL, He is 28-8-1 and has fought the best of the best, including "Kid" Yamamoto, Menjivar, Serra, Bennett, and Hioki.
He definantly should have been paid more.
Larson should have been paid more, same goes for Condit
