one last point: if tims not a top heavyweight deserving of a rematch then why does this site have randy ranked number 3. his only recent hw fight was his win over tim.

No title shot for Tim. Too many strong heavyweights in the division for him too now. I dont see him ever beating someone like Nog or CroCop......or even Herring.

Only if he can beat Nogueira and Cro Cop, and do it convincingly (not by decision-it would have to be by early KO or TKO). He needs to think about a promotion change to somewhere more suitable to his style, maybe K-1.

Tim will never be champ again anyway, way to much competition....
Big Nog, Cro Cop, Gonzaga, Herring, Fedor if he comes, Barnett if he comes,
Tim isnt goin to fight for a while.

Supposedly Sylvia has a staph infection so he won't be fighting until late this year or possibly early next year. I believe the winner of Cro Cop vs. Kongo is suppose to get the next title shot.

I think Sylvia should fight a solid top 10 fighter and if he wins, then he should get a title shot. No matter how much everyone dislikes the guy, he is a multiple time champion and was coming off of 3 title defences before he lost to Couture. If Vera comes back before Tim and gets a win over a top 10 fighter, then I think Sylvia and Vera should fight for the #1 contender spot.

Does Tim Sylvia deserve a title shot? Yes! Every former champ recently dethroned deserves a title shot. IMO

If his title defenses hadn't been so boring I'd say yeah give him a title shot now. Since they were so non crowd pleasing than I think he needs at least 2 quality wins. I would really like to see Sylvia vs. Herring.

Actually, I kind of like the Sylvia vs. Herring matchup, but Herring is now reportedly taking a break from MMA to spend time with his family. Sylvia doesn't deserve a title shot, but he does need to get back in the ring soon.

this is the point.
everyone knows how anyone can win on a given knight. mma isnt a popularity contest or who puts on the best show contest. there are alot of guys who promote shows and have big fan bases whos whole strategy is to get you down and lay on you until they get a decision. the fact of the matter is can you win
? tim has been boring lately but can he win? against randy? i say give him a shot lets see. if hes overmstched then he will take beating

Tim seems like a nice guy but his last few wins were some of the most boring fights i've ever seen. The Couture fight was good because it was amazing watching Randy overcome the size and get the win. But his 2 fights before that sucked IMO. But if he wins all his fights he should get a shot I guess.

He needs to win against some good talent. Put him against Mirko. Definitely not against Arlovski again. SOOOOOO BORING
