Agreed, McFedries would've been a good match, was hoping Tanner would fight against someone like Macdonald or even Okami...

Eastman is a warrior but Tanner has more experience in the octagon. Tanner hasnt faught in a while I like him but I think Eastman will pull off the upset.

I didnt really want the UFC to give tanner a can. dont get my wrong eastman is a good fighter, but 0-3 in the ufc just cant get it done for the big show like joe riggs.
But good to see tanner back anyone hope he gets the win and rises in the middleweight division and hypes up this weak division.

Tanner should smash through Eastman imo. He has crisp standup(nice dirty boxing as well as some BEAUTIFUL elbows and knees) and a sound ground game, Eastman isn't a pushover by any means, but Tanner is way more skilled.
It'd be great to see Tanner in the octagon again.
There isn't a fight in the middleweight division I personally want to see more, than a focused Tanner and Silva for the title. *salivates*

Don't underestimate eastman. He is a dangerous fighter. I don't like this fight for Tanner. I would pick him to win, but a I feel it's like the Liddell Jardine fight lots to lose, but little to gain except what people already expect. A win for Tanner would officially end Eastmans UFC career, but a Tanner loss in this fight would discredit him. If Tanner lost to a bigger name he could play it off as a "warm up fight," (I know he wouldn't want to make excuses) but if he loses to someone unestablished in the UFC he wont be able to make the quick comeback that he, and the UFC both need. It's kind of a tricky situation, who to put him against, but I think someone higher up the ladder makes more sense.

its true that the middle weight division is the weakest, and tanner would bring some exciment,i dont know why the the UFC wouldnt want Paulo Fihlo, but nways Eastman is a very explosive fighter, i still think tanner will win but we might see somethig along the lines of cro cop vs kevin randleman 1.......Macdonald or okami would have been awesome fights, i think okami would beat tanner but not macdonald...................
i dont know about you guys but i dont see tanner being the champ for the ufc, if rich franklin trashed him completely, i dont see how he could beat anderson silva.........

I would have liked to see Tanner thrown right back in with the wolves and given a higher quality opponent. However, I thought that I would never again see Evan in the cage so I am just going to be grateful to see him back. He was one of my favorites back in the day.
I'd have to agree with you elysianwing, I think that a focused Tanner of old would one of the most legitimate threats to Silva's reign. Now that's a fight I would love to see!

I like both of these fighter and being that Eastman is the new 185 gate keeper he should fight Tanner to see if he is back to fighting shape.

I like Marvin Eastman. Hope he can drop Tanner so we can see his short ass fight again in the UFC.
