Sergei should have no problem with Gilbert in my opinion.

Yvel will always be considered an idiot for hitting a ref, though it was probably the best chance at a win he had in awhile(I think he is 1-6/7 in pride).... easy win for sergei, possible win for yvel if he recovers from the loss and can KO the ref.

Kharitonov has something to prove after his last two matches: both stopped due to strikes in the first round. Since his gorgeous dismantling of a much smaller Ninja in April of "04, he's been a mediocre 5-3. Victory over a well seasoned and always potent Yvel would offer much needed momentum.

Gilbert may have a chance standing if he can keep from disqualifying himself.

It's good to hear that he's going for a comeback and a match already. But it really pisses me off when fighters get D/Q bec. of stupidity. Sergie might have this one on for the easy ride up a win. I hope no refs go down faster than the fighters.

I am going for sergei. hope he really trains like he should, instead of doing that farmboy work that was said in his last fight.

They both can strike Yvel is more of a kickboxer with great high kicks but has a problem leaving his chin exposed and to a smart technical striker like Sergei it may spell trouble not to mention Segrei is very good on the ground. But both fighters need a win so it will be intense i'm sure but if i were to pick i would have to say Sergei.

I used to love Gilbert, he is such an exciting stand up fighter, yet he's not got the ground game for pride, stand up's just not good enough for K1. It's a shame.
If the fight goes to the mat and sergei doesn't submit him in five minutes, I will be really suprised.

Sergei has the better hands, and better ground skills. Gilbert only has his knees and kicks what might become a factor. Sergei by ko in round 1!

Although Yvel's attitude and actions are deplorable, this has no effect on his skills.
I could see him taking this via KO. It's a gut feeling.

Sergei has had a bad year in 2006. I expect him to be making his comeback to title contention. Expect Sergei to win by KO

I remember first seeing Yvel fight Tsuyoshi Khosaka on RINGS tape back in 2000 and was amazed at his striking.
When he moved to the big leauges, outisde of his highlight reel KO of Goodridge, he has lost practically every important fight he has been in (Belfort,Igor,Fujita,Frye,Horn).
I fully expect him to continue this trend against Sergei..
