yahoo sports said Former Commonwealth Games medalist and British heavyweight champion James Oyebola was in critical condition in a London hospital Tuesday after being shot in the face outside a nightclub where he worked as a bouncer.
Oyebola was shot early Monday after asking three men to stop smoking inside the club in London's Fulham district.
Detective Chief Inspector Scott Wilson of the Metropolitan Police said three suspects, aged between 19 and 25, ran from the club in separate directions.
"It is a horrible crime to happen anywhere but over nothing -- an incident such as smoking -- these people need to be caught," Wilson told the British Broadcasting Corp. on Tuesday.
The 46-year-old won bronze at the 1986 Commonwealth Games in the super heavyweight division and was the British heavyweight champion from 1994 to 1996.

Places like London, Birmingham and Manchester are, there is a serious problem escalating with Black Youth Gangs there, a lot gang motivated shootings and stabbings. These impressionable kids are growing up in conflict fueled environments, and think that killing is something to make you respected or feared.
Bye, Oyebola was declared Brain dead today, so this effectively becomes a murder case, as of the moment when they turn his life support off. At the moment the charge given to the bastard that shot him, when he caught (and I sure hope they get him!) will be attempted murder, which carries the same sentance as a murder charge anyway; mandatory life sentance.
