A very interesting annoucement.
I don't think that Yvel is as good a striker as Cro Cop, but as a sparring partner he should be excellent and should really be able to give Mirko some mental "fire". Remy is just excellent, and I think he will benefit from this in terms of what he learns just as much as Cro Cop will!

Thats awesome... 2 strikers that are probably actually on the same or higher level than Mirko as far as striking goes, this should get him in fantastic shape for this fight with Kongo
To be honest, Yvel and Bonjasky know what it takes to push Cro Cop's striking to the next level, but Cro Cop is already better than them. He could beat Yvel, and while Bonjasky has some fantastic technical points he could teach Cro Cop, Bonjasky doesnt have the strength to stand with Cro Cop either. However, this isnt about competition, its about teaching Cro Cop. He will likely get some tips on knees from Bonjasky, Remy has awesome knees, and Kongo will try and clinch. While Cro Cop probably wont want to stay there long, Im sure Remy will teach him about using knees to escape the clinch, Remy knows his Muay Thai!
The only other person I'd like to see training with him is Le Banner, he has awesome hands, Im sure he could have made Mirko's punching (which is already phenomenal) to even greater destructive heights.
Yvel KO'd Schilt in MMA, that is all...

lol, I never said he wasn't a dirty fighter! People don't give Yvel enough credit though, he is easily the most underrated striker in MMA history. He has better striking than CroCop IMHO.

I would agree with boxing skills...Mirko is "the best kicker in MMA" lol. No that was one of the funnier moments in mma for me, ahh gilbert beating up a ref.

I hear there is more to the "ref story" then meets the eye.
That ref was the promoter of the event and manager of the guy Yvel was fighting...........and had been dicking Yvel around for a few days up until that point.
Not saying it was right, but...........

great for mirko, i do gree that is on another level, i think he could beat yvel and he already beat Bonjaskycro cop vs Bonjasky
but they will push him to train harder and to get that fire back, and set his mind on being the champ

"I am good enough on the ground"?????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah, for Kongo.
His fight with Kongo will stay standing until Cheik goes down from a kick to the head, or maybe a few too many punches to the face.........And for this fight, it's good to train standup 80/20.....But if CroCop would work more on his BJJ offense instead of just BJJ defense, then he could submit Kongo. Granted, it will be more entertaining standing up but in the future, he needs more BJJ training for submission purposes, not just to get out of them.
