Yeah he does not have that great of a Resume, his last 2 vicotries have been kind of boring and not really exciting, nothing that impressive to say yeah, he has a great chance next time he fights Anderson.

I see Rich having the same amount of chance as Forrest beating Shogun. Shogun will run thorugh Forrest and I think Anderson will run through Rich again.

I can only see Rich pulling out a submission or Decision thanks to his wrestling keeping him in it. I say pull a Tito Ortiz or Sean Sherk and lay & Prey Anderson....

any thoughts?

I think Franklin always has a good chance to beat anyone at the division. Some people don't give him enough credit for beating up on Jason MacDonald the way he did. Here was a ground specialist with very limited striking, and on the ground, he could do nothing with Franklin. Franklin v Okami I think both were kind of hesitant because they were polar opposite fighters in style. Okami did have him in trouble near the end but Franklin perservered.

The main problem with Franklin's game is that it doesn't work against Silva. He's always been able to go in and brawl successfully, which is what he prefers. He's not a very patient fighter by nature, although it seems like he's trying to be. Silva is not David Loiseau, or somebody that Franklin can just back into the cage and push around at will. Beacuse if he tries that, he's gonna find himself staring up at the lights again. He needs to be patient, get in and out against Silva, and pick the right opportunities to take Silva down. If he runs in with his head down looking to get Silva down, he will get knocked out again. He just needs to take his time, and he has a very realistic shot at winning.

with the last fight playing mind games with Rich its hard to say Anerson has a full arsonal to throw at rich
Rich problem is that the punches he throw are too looping with Anersons straight peunch hell pick him apart
and the ground game is soo one sided rich would have to be on top to have a chance but still marqurat was on top and look what happened to him he got fliped and knocked
Anderson will finish Franklin in the fist KO or sub
if not the first the 2nd finished the same as the 1st

Standing Anderson will kill him
In the clinch Anderson will kill him (Rich likes the clinch game for takedowns)
I have never seen Rich do a very good double leg, single leg. high crotch or whatever takedown that was very good. That IMO is the only way he can get the fight to the ground with Anderson.
In the unlikely event he does get it to the ground, he will not be able to do anything because of Silva's great defensive and offensive (scrambling to get to his feet or on top) BJJ.

Silva by KO round 1-2

you guys act like silva is gunna kill franklin. In thier first fight Franklin came in lookin like a ghost, seemed like he had to cut a lot of weight. He also was recovering from a broken hand and other injuries.

If you remeber Lutter MOUNTED Silva, but he went for a supid armbar and lost the mount. Rich will not make that mistake.

I obviously give Silva the standup advantage, but if Rich can get Silva to the ground its a different story.

Im putting my money on Rich, revenge baby

Franklin by TKO...you think he isnt trainning his takedown/ ground game? Franklin is good at submissions too, and hes a lot stronger than silva. I see this fight going to the ground

I really can see your point, Rich should be in better shape, but if he gives Anderson ANY space he'll get picked apart, and if he gets into a position that Anderson can get the clinch it'll be over quick. IMO theres to many dangerous situations for rich, baisically he has to run at anderson hope to get a double leg and ground and pound avoiding the submissions.

Its hard to see Rich winning the fight with everything thats happened. I mean he wasnt very impressive against Yushin and i mean i didn't see much in that fight to lead me to believe that anything has improved to impact the outcome of the fight. I like Rich but i think Sliva is just a bad match up for him and im afraid the same outcome is in store for the hometown man.It being in Cinci is prolly gonna hurt him more than help because it will just put more pressure on him which i think he will brake under. Gotta go with Silva by KO in the second. If he makes it out of the first round (which i think he does) I'll ill be happy for him.

Wana avatar bet on it?
Also Lutter mounted Silva only 9 weeks after he had knee injury. BTW Nate Marquart is WAY better then Rich on the ground, and he could not do anything with Silva.

Of course he has a chance, he's a good fighter and this is MMA. That being said ,I think Anderson should be about a 3 to 1 favorite. I think Franklin will last longer this time, but I'll take Anderson by 3rd rd. TKO.

If Anderson Silva beats Rich, you have to have an avatar of Silva.

If Rich Franklin beats Silva, i Have to have an avatar of Rich.

Sound good?

He stands a chance if he is mentally prepared for this fight. However, I still believe he will lose (probably in the 2nd round).
