Bernard is just trying to hype up his fight. like Mayweather tried to do.

See Bernard just wants people to come watch his fight. But let's see Din Thomas has offically called out any boxer to come fight in the UFC.

And lets also see, Mayweather ducked out on fighting Sherk. haha of course he would.

You don't remember that well. It was Evander Holyfield who was bit and the ear didn't come clean off, although a pretty big chunk did.

Boxing is just becoming sad. No one cares about it anymore. Back in the day it used to get some fans into it but its too boring IMO. All they do is stand around striking once and awhile. MMA is killing boxing which is making them desperate for anything to get ratings. Its sad to see because MMA is just getting better after the purchase of Pride. Not sad for me because i dislike boxing but I'm sure some people re gonna be sad to see it go.

"if you like biting, watch UFC." hahahahahahaha are you ******* kidding me? that has got to the dumbest most uniformed opinion I have ever heard. Anyone seen any old Mke Tyson Vs Evander Holyfield footage recently?

Agreed. Boxing's in a sorry state when the best they can do is try to get publicity through MMA. And even that just shows that boxing is losing out. It's no headline if a boxer says something about anything, unless they say "UFC sucks". Then it gets a little coverage. The important part to the media at this point is that a boxer said something about the UFC.

Boxers just need to be happy that a great boxer will probably beat most MMA fighters at boxing. Then again, Dwayne Wade is probably better at basketball than Matt Serra ... big deal, different sport. In MMA, the reach difference could make for an interesting fight, though...

Hopkins no doubt is one of the best BOXER's I have ever seen and I think most who know a lil' sum bout boxing would agree. However he has no room to bash another sport especially a fighting sport. We are suppose to listen to a guy who claims that the UFC is nothing but a bar fight on a friday night..... ya ok bernard. You know I was going to get mad and upset about this but then I realized that getting mad at someone because of their ignorance and lack of knowledge of a topic just would't be right. For his sake I hope he never accepts
an MMA fight. Somebody should show him what happened to Jonnie Morton

All the guy is tryin to do is promote his fight.

Mayweather did the same thing and now Hopkins is doin it.

Its sad, cuz I really liked how Hopkins carried himself before this ridiculous comments.

Boxers are no worse than dojo masters who claim they can't enter the UFC becasue their techniques are too lethal to be used in a sporting event...or bodybuilders who say "there's no way that skinny guy could beat me"...or wrestlers with no MMA experience who say they could beat Ernesto Hoost becasue they would just take him down right away.

All of these guys have worked very hard at very demanding sports and the people around them are constantly blowing them up as to how tough they are. And they ARE tough. Bernard Hopkins in particular is about as hard a dude as you can find. They are showing disprespect to MMA partially in a response to the disrespect that MMA shows to them. Just becasue a boxer would lose in an open rules fight doesn't mean that boxing isn't just as demanding as MMA or any other sport. When people don't give his sport credit, a guy like Hopkins--who's paranoid as hell anywyas--is naturally going to give the reaction you hear there.

One thing that should make him feel better is that he gets paid about 20x the amount of the headliners for the UFC for his fights at this stage of his career. Doesn't provide a lot of incentive to challenge Matt Serra, huh?

Although I'm not a boxing fan, this is a well written post.
