The logical side of me says Smith deserves to able to control that decision. She made weight and her opponent did not. But the other side of my brain says FIGHT! Collect that bonus money from Ladd missing weight and stay in the good graces with the UFC.

If Ladd missed weight by 5 pounds then I would understand but not for 1.5 pounds...it's not even 1 kilogram. Also on top of Ladd losing 20% of her fight purse to Smith she also offered her an extra 5k to accept the fight. It was a bad match up for Smith, she would have struggled against the younger, hungrier and better grappler in Ladd. Smith only does well with fighters that are willing to trade and brawl with her.
