Appearantly, they have yet to determine the weight for Swick vs Leben 2 because both fighters want to move from 185 down to 170. In my humble opinion, aren't they crazy??? The Middleweight division isn't very deep compared to 170. I can't picture Swick or Leben having more success in the Welterweight division. I think swick has a lot of talent and potential but I feel we have seen the best of Leben.

Welterweights
Serra
Hughes
GSP
KOS
Karo
Diego
BJ Penn
Fitch

Middle weights
Anderson Silva
Franklin
Okami
J-Mac
Kendall Grove

stay at middle in the UFC, he would be crazy to go to the WEC. unless they bankroll of the contract is larger, idk if it is or not. but welters are way more stacked. if swick keeps pickin em' off in the middles, his title shot will come around the corner.

That's true; However, If he goes to the WEC he would be the man to beat and probably becomes champion. Then when his contract is up he will have a lot more room to negotiate with the UFC because other organizations probably throw a lot of money at him.

I say stay in the UFC MW division. Just cause he lost to Okami doesn't mean he should drop down. Okami is top 5 MW in the UFC and he went to a decision with him. If he put on a bit of muscle he could still be a force. That said I don't see him beating Silva..but neither would I see him beating GSP or whoever has the WW title.

Lets see the MW Champ is better than all the WW and Swick wouldnt stand a chance vs Silva so why not move down to where you might have a chance to become a champ

Because he'll never even see the ww champ. theres far to many ww. MW may have a great champ but in the ufc right now it's the weakest div next to the LW div.

I don't think most Fighters are thinking "what is the easiest way for me to be successful?" I think what is more important is being successful in the condition they feel most comfortable. I doubt Mike or Leben are thinking welterwight will be easier as much as they are thinking that they will be able to fight at 100% at that weight.

I dont see who would out strike him at WW? I think he would be able to ko his way to a title shot and be larger, longer and stronger than most. I think he would KO hughes, KOS or serra, just my oppinion though.

the problem is that in the MW division in the UFC, none of these guys will beat Anderson or Rich, but down at WW Swick would certainly be a big guy down their, and both men are decent strikers, SWick for me would do well, but also agree that they'd have more succes at MW, but will never win the belt

maybe im a glory hound but if the money was similar i would consider going wec and winning a belt. good for the resume and i think will eventually be good for him when he can rejoin the ufc as a the wec champ.

if i were him i would also certainly consider moving down despite how stacked the ww division is/ it must be extremely demoralizing to feel considerably less strong than your opponent and okami and franklin are always gonna make him feel that way, and silva is beast. hard to see a great future butting heads with them anytime int he near future.

Only bad thing is with Swick moving down to WW is he most likely wont fight Jon Fitch or Koscheck cuz their all with AKA.

Oh and check out Leben has the underdog bonus on the fantasy pick haha.

I don't think it matters where they are in the UFC, I don't think they'll ever be top competition, especially not Leben.

Swick should stay at MW, IMO if he goes down to WW then he will never get a title shot because the tritle will just keep rotating between GSP, Hughes, serra, and maybe even Karo.
