Conor McGregor wants to make one thing very clear: He will absolutely fight again. And he wanted to do it sooner than you think.

The UFC lightweight champion wrote Thursday on Instagram that he offered to fight Frankie Edgar at UFC 222 on March 3 when Max Holloway pulled out of the scheduled featherweight title fight, but the UFC said “there wasn’t enough time to generate the money that the UFC would need.”

Where was this level of enthusiasm about fighting Tony or Khabib and defending his belt...

That's what I don't get. If he's able to fight at UFC 222, then why isn't he able to defend his belt at UFC 223 instead of having Tony fight Khabib? It makes no sense.

Don't believe it for a second

More Conor flapping his gums again. Get in the cage or don't.

I agree. Conor definitely prefers to pick his opponents. The UFC created a big part of this problem. It reminds me of what boxers do in order to inflate their records. That said, he is a pretty good fighter, who will fight anyone if the price is right. I guess you have to give him (or his management) props for understanding the business side on how to market fights and make big money.

All that said, I don't think Frankie is an easy out for Conor. I think Frankie would give Conor a pretty good fight at 145 and would have a good shot at winning. Conor would be the favorite, but I don't think by a lot.
