Bellator will be going with big names over a highly anticipated title fight as the final bout of its big show in Los Angeles next week.

Chael Sonnen vs. Quinton Jackson will act as the headliner of Bellator 192 on Jan. 20 in Inglewood, Calif., MMA Fighting confirmed with the promotion Friday. Bellator president Scott Coker told The Sporting News earlier Friday that Sonnen vs. “Rampage” will be the main event. Previously, it was expected that a welterweight title fight between champion Douglas Lima and Rory MacDonald would be at the top of the bill.

Rumor is that the show wasn't selling well, so this Bellator's way in hoping to boost sales.
The other rumor is that since every other tournament fight is going to be a main event, might as well start the tournament off with a main event fight.
Either way, it just sucks that Bellator gets so scared off trying to promote younger talent.
They have plenty of guys that are incredibly talented but they just don't ever really get a chance to succeed since Bellator uses all of their marketing to hype guys who already have a pedigree of fighting and selling fights.
