Conor McGregor’s improbable challenge of Floyd Mayweather could be seen by a staggering 50 million people in the United States as fans and the curious gather in small and large parties.

The fight Saturday night threatens the pay-per-view revenue record set by Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao two years ago and could dwarf it in viewership as people use the event as a reason to have friends and family over for a little escapism and controlled violence.

Thought I could get around ordering this fight, but the article has it right, this is the Super Bowl and then some, and then some more. I think this fight crushes the 5 mil mark and the record is probably never broken again, unless this fight is a war that ends in a draw or Connor wins by flash KO, then we'll have a 7 mil rematch.

I'd rather watch the Hobbit trilogy and Teletubbies at the same time than watch this freak show.

And that'll be their loss

I'm not watching. I'm looking forward to this being over so we can get back to reality finally and I don't have to hear every radio station on Sirius talking about this from a perspective of a pure casual fan. I hate that. I don't want to hear the NBA guys talking about something they have no clue about. This is the massive downfall of this fight imo. This is a fight that gives a platform to complete morons.

I work Saturday evenings, so I will be clicking 'update' on the play-by-play from sites. If I had the night off..I think I would break down and order it. $100 for what could be the greatest upset in combat sports history. I'd be in. Why not!?

I went half with a friend and I'm really happy with the purchase. We through a nice viewing party and the fight delivered and it was really one of those fights where everyone stopped and was a fight fan for the day. Never saw anything like this and I'm happy I helped get them over 5 million.

I streamed it. Beautiful HD quality too. I was sure I wasn't going to make it through the undercard fights. Friends told me it was fairly easy to find on YouTube on Sunday morning.
