World Series of Fighting could soon be on the verge of losing its lightweight champion.

Justin Gaethje (17-0), considered one of the best and most exciting young fighters in MMA, is officially a free agent, according to multiple sources.

MMA Fighting reported in November that Gaethje was planning on testing the free-agent market in early 2017, and on Monday, FOXSports.com reported he was now officially free to field offers. Sources told MMA Figthing that he was given clearance to do so on Friday. WSOF currently has the right to match any offer Gaethje receives.

UFC vs Bellator...let's see who has the best deal, you know they're both gunning for him.

Bellator will swoop him. New UFC brass doesn't care about talent. Only care about the ability to sell & PPV numbers.

Gaethje has the kind of style that the "new UFC" wants, plus I'm sure he wants the bigger stage. I don't see him getting to the top 10 at LW in the UFC though.

Nope too much of a brawler, I think. Most of the top ten guys would probably KO him.

I hope he goes UFC tbh. I've always had him as a fringe Top 10 Worldwide. Id like him to get someone like a Francisco Trinaldo type to start. A winnable fight for him and go from there.

Although a Brent Primus, Pitbull, Michael Chandler, Derek Anderson, Dave Rickels or Campos fights all would be good or great. Really if he went to Bellator an immediate Title Shot would be very acceptable in my eyes. He could beat Chandler, but that would be an epic fight.

Hope he goes to bellator there are some great fights and he would add great depth to a stacked division.

Hes a fan friendly fighter that could pit those griffin vs bonnar style fights that would garner good hype.

I like him wherever he ends up hope he gets paid.
