Nick Diaz, who is signed with ProElite, has requested to face Frank Shamrock as soon as possible. After a spectacular win against Takanori Gomi, Diaz seems intent on enrolling himself for higher profile fights. With both fighters fighting in the same organization this fight seems the logical next step in what would be an MMA fan's dream come true.
"I watched his last fight and no disrespect intended but I think I would whoop his ass.", stated Diaz. A formal offer of intent has been delivered to the promoters to set this fight up and now we await their response. Info found at www.graciefighter.com

Diaz has a good chance of winning this fight. He's 100% more well-rounded than Baroni (who Shamrock just beat). He's younger, plus his stand-up and bjj are on par, if not better, than Shamrocks'. Not to mention Shamrock has been plagued with injuries as of late.

I like watching Diaz fight anybody ... Now, will he be able to beat Shamrock before Frank disqualifies himself? We know how he loves fighting those Gracie-style BJJ guys.

Did anyone read that White interview where he said Frank Shamrock was an absolute bum because he was a complete jerk at the bargaining table? He also said he watched the Baroni vs. Shamrock fight hoping Baroni would bury Frank.
Anyways, why is Diaz in ProElite? I must have missed that story. Was this an offshoot of him being pissed about getting banned and the whole corner license issue? Diaz should be in the UFC.

After Diaz kept losing in the UFC at 170 he gave a interview ion the beatdown about this. He said he wanted to sign with Pride because he likes the ring, because he can't get pressed against the cage and kept there. He said Pride always restarts there fighter's in the center when they got tangled in the ropes. Sounded like sour grapes at the time to me, but I love watching Diaz fight. As for EliteXC, they offered him more money and a chance to fight in Nocal at the time. I think he would have already fought there once if not for the suspension. I don't think he will ever be a contender at 170, but he could make 155 and do some damage IMO.Unless he gets physically stronger I think wrestlers with good sub defense will always be his achilles heel. I don't like Shamrock, so if this fight happens, I hoped Diaz wins.

I HATE NICK DIAZ, but I still want to see anyone just whoop the crap out of FS and I think Diaz could do it. Maybe the only fight he'll ever have where I root for him.
