Bellator welterweight Michael Page has a sport karate based style that makes him a one-man highlight reel. At Bellator 158 in London, he met the durable Evangelista 'Cyborg' Santos, and dispatched him with a jumping knee.

There is another side to the highlight reel that only fighters, coaches, and teams ordinarily get to see. Just as a highlight finish makes we asses in seats scream "HOLY F@$%ING $#!^" the losing side ordinarily suffers, dramatically.

However, there is little to prepare you for what happened to Cyborg Santos on Saturday night.

His ex-wife, the best female fighter in MMA, Cris 'Cyborg' Santos, just posted a GoFundMe request on the UG, and a horrific image on Instagram.

Sad to see something that horrific to a guy fighting for an organization who doesn't take care of the medicals.

But an interesting end to fighting someone who 'is not a real fighter'.

I'm surprised Bellator isn't jumping all over the opportunity to cover everything here, considering they used what happened to him as advertisement.

Cyborg santos I’m under observation now, and will have surgery in the United States," Santos told MMA Fighting. "I had a serious injury, but Bellator is giving me all the support I need."

Bellator will be helping with surgery costs as well as the narional health service in the UK. the money they are asking for is personal support for his family because he won't be able to work and supports many people.

From the article from OP..

The National Health Service in the UK pays for surgery of this nature, even for foreigners. The Viacom owned Bellator too will undoubtedly be helping out. However, an injury of this nature has a vast number of further costs, including the fact that Santos will certainly not be back at work soon.

Checking in to make sure this was said before everyone grabbed their torches and pitchforks

I didn't miss anything. Bellator is on par with the minimum of what they should be doing. I just wish they did more. Maybe they will though. Only time will tell.

Yup good job Franklin haha

From the same articke franklin quoted

Bellator representatives have been present with him at the hospital throughout this process, and we are taking care of any medical bills that he incurs. In addition, we are going to go ahead and pay ‘Cyborg’ his win bonus to help him find a little extra comfort throughout his recovery process, which we hope is a speedy one.

Bellator those evil bastards lol

Dude, enough with the snarky comments. Everyone knows where you stand on every issue, without the trolling. If that is all you have to offer, don't bother posting.

Yeah. Usually its not a good idea to downgrade your opponent, especially when he's capable of implanting your forehead in!

MVP is a friggen monster. Cyborg has a ton of heart and I respect the shit out of him. That fight reminder me of Jones vs Hamill where you knew one guy was gonna get hurt but got beaten up way worse then you could even imagine

This. Watching Cyborg go down like that, you immediately knew the pain was beyond fighting through it. Powerful knee! And Hamill, that shit was sad to watch. I remember watching with my brother and we were screaming at the tv for a stoppage!!
