Must be in need of money.
Unranked....what's that like 8 grand a fight?
Don't spend it all in one place BJ.

BJ will probably fight lightweight if he has any sense. In the lightweight division he can probably still stomp half the guys on his striking alone.

We've been let down enough times to forget that an non coddled Penn is a GSP level fighter.

It's been 10 years since BJ was even competitive vs GSP.

There isn't a single fighter in the top 10 of any UFC division I'd pick the current version of BJ to win over.

Yep, I kind of respect fighters like BJ and Rockhold a little more in than someone who comes from poverty or the middle class. Guys like that don't have to fight but they choose too which in a strange way (to me at least) takes a little more guts than a guy who doesn't have any better options (in their minds at least) to get rich.

Vague memories are surfacing. Someone diving down, picking up rocks, and walking around with them under water for a little while then surfacing. Was that bj and what you were talking about?

"They call it running the rock. A grueling test of strength and endurance originating by Hawaiian warriors. Generations later it's same punishing workout is employed by another Hawaiian on the brink of battle."

^ that actually looks like an awesome workout.

I'm excited to see what happens if he fights Lentz. Nik had potential but has been stalling out development wise if not regressed. Even his wrestling seems less effective than it did several years ago and his hands don't spur any memorable moments. He'd be a favorite against bj imo, but not by much, bj kung of regressed as well but it's like he can forget more than Lentz will ever know type of deal. If bj gives the reigns to a top notch camp and coaches, he can beat a guy like Lentz. I hope we all get the chance to find out.

I think BJ will probably say he feels he still has a lot left to prove but no matter who or when he fights, I think he'll have a lot of fun out there win or lose.

I would say we have no idea what the current version of Penn is... You're talking about a guy who has had time off to heal, is out of Jacksons now so he won't be babied, and who has undertrained a majority of his later career.

The miles shouldn't be that bad and the training should be harder than ever.

Not to sound condescending but what makes you think Jackson camp was coddling him?

I'm more curious to see if Bj's guard is still dangerous more than anything. I can think of only 2 or 3 guys with a scary enough guard where their opponent won't chase them to the ground.
