Nick Diaz, who is signed with ProElite, has requested to face Frank Shamrock as soon as possible. After a spectacular win against Takanori Gomi, Diaz seems intent on enrolling himself for higher profile fights. With both fighters fighting in the same organization this fight seems the logical next step in what would be an MMA fan's dream come true.
"I watched his last fight and no disrespect intended but I think I would whoop his ass.", stated Diaz. A formal offer of intent has been delivered to the promoters to set this fight up and now we await their response.
Wouldn't that one be an awesome fight?

Diaz was very impressive in the fight against Gomi but im not sure how he would handle an experienced middleweight like Shamrock. Diaz's striking has improved but Baroni is a better striker than Diaz and Shamrock picked apart Baroni on the feet. I don't doubt Diaz but I think Frank would take it if it ever happened.

That was also against Frank Shamrock of all people. Baroni is known for his striking, Diaz's striking cant even be compared to Baroni, cause Baroni's technique and power is just on a whole different level, and the style of striking is different. Nick half asses and picks away, Baroni is a power striker that brawls.

Baroni is like a wind up toy... he's good for the first few minutes but then he runs out of steam and there's no way to wind him back up! Diaz has great cardio and great hands. Diaz > Baroni

For this fight to happen, Shamrock would have to agree to fight a pretty damn good fighter. That means this fight will not happen.

couldn't agree more. I think Diaz would put up more of a fight than Baroni. It'd be an interesting fight to see, it depends on what weight class they fight in.. imo
