http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UFC_76<br />Is there any evidence to support Takanori Gomi signing with the UFC?

Your evidence is here .......

Ufc bought pride, or ufc bought pride for their fighters to fight in the ufc !!?????
Eventually all pride fighters will be in the ufc !!!

The problem according to Zuffa is the way the contracts were written, Too many written as non -exclusive deals. Other's fight to fight. Other's just not enforcible. So most of the fighter's had to be resigned to Zuffa contracts.

Exactly, so it's not so unfathomable that Gomi might sign with another org.

I think Zuffa will try to hold most guys with non-exclusive contracts. Fedor comes to mind. Dana White said they would hold him to his Pride deal while they work on the exclusive contract. This might be the case for a lot of the Pride guys and the reason a lot of them haven't had fights in a while.

Think of it this way, The ufc and pridefc were the two biggest mma fight orginisations in the world always competing against each other. Pride was huge world wide and had, i think, the best middle/heavyweights fighting for them. The ufc have eliminated their closest competition by buying them out. Now its a question of, " do we run both companys and have the two biggest mma shows in the world, or do we empty all pridefc had into the ufc and make ufc the number 1 fighting orginisation". Why do you think dana is plotting the ufc all around the world with events in uk, ireland and soon to be spain, france etc.. reason is because dana's instruction is to make the ufc the pioneer of the term mma so that the ufc becomes the mma event that is world widely recognised as the biggest company with the best fighters and fight cards. The fretittaz dont give a shit about pridefc, which is stupid because mma in japan is huge and there is a big market for making mma money in japan. Unless wealthy businness men are intised into the likes of bodog and cagerage etc.. 5 years from now the ufc will be the only big stage for mma competition.

Gomi hasn't looked the same since he tore up the Bushido lightweight tourney. It seems like he losts his hunger for competition. Why do you think he only defended his title twice out of six bouts, because Pride knew thast their Golden Goy wasn't performing anymore.

I'm not a huge fan of Gomi and that probably shadows my opinion of him but it appears that he has trouble with winning in America. 2 fights here and basically two loses as we all know that he lost to Nick Diaz. It's probably just the changing of rules that he hasn't adapted to but its something to think about.

If the UFC don't already have his contract I'm sure K-1 will put in an offer or two. Gomi vs Kid would be huge in Japan if they can make that happen. On the other hand Gomi has expressed interest in fighting Hughes and GSP and becoming a star in the US.

I wish the UFC would work out a deal with Nick Diaz so we could see Diaz vs Gomi 2 that would be awesome.
