I was wondering, do the odds change as the event comes closer ? or will the odds stay the same ?

the odds change based on how meny people pick each fighter. If the pick ratio changes then the odds also change.

Do the odds change for those that already placed bets or just new bets?

Basically I want to know if I make picks for bets now if I'll need to check the odds the day of the event to see if some of my bets get changed to worse odds.

The odds change for all bets. Meaning you can't lock in at any odds until everything is locked. This also means you can change you bets at any time. You should check the site the day of the event,

no szucconi....ur wrong....the mods put in the odds...it duznt change based on how many people pick each fighter...but the mods do factor that in when determining the odds

Could have fooled me. Are you sure? Where are you getting this info? I would like to know myself. I have just noticed a pattern of picks and odds.

The important part is the fact that they change, not how they are set.

As of now, the odds are pretty much set from when you are first able to place a bet on them until the event locks. Initially the odds were going to be live odds, but this was changed before the first event of the season even took place. We wanted everyone to have the same odds and same chances to win rather then favoring a person that happened to log on at a time when the picks and wagers caused their picks to have more advantageous odds. And, since this IS just a game and a really simple simulation of a real system, that's how it is for now

Fighter odds are based on an algorithm which factors in variety of criteria from our users via the wagering system and pick 'em game.

Alright awesome thx for the response. I was just wondering cuz Herring is paying amazing odds right now, and if the odds did infact change prior to the event, i would go put some $$$ on em now.

All Herring has going for him is the kiss of death before the fight even begins.

That fight is only big fave/dog fight on the whole card, everything else is really even and also hard to call

You will always need to come on and check them the day it locks up but the TUF5 FINALE odds never changed that much

The odds are mostly based on members picks but they factor in other things as well, but WHY is rashad not an underdog with good odds then? they are both around -110 which seems stupid

Can we get a little consistency perhaps in the odds? It's more than a little silly that the great majority of fights have a player bias, and the few really close fights have a house bias. The house odds system would be immensely better if mmap would just stick to the odds being offered by the bookies. Increase consistency, increase realism.

ATM the only thing I don't like about mmap is the arbitrary nature of the betting lines.
