Gustafsson vs. Rumble? The Swede says he's ready in January and it's all up to the UFC to make it happen.

About damn time! That said I do dislike the fact that if this fight happens it knocks off a contender.

Gotta make up your mind there Gus.
Lol, it's really best if this happens though. Just put them as the co-main on the Jan.3 card so someone is there in case Jones or Cormier get injured.

Oh man...sick ass fight! I was kind of hoping for someone else too just to keep up the contender ship in the division but screw it!

I like this Gus a lot better than the, "I'll wait 3 years for a title shot" Gus. I imagine these guys have a lot of people in their ear every day telling them what to say so I'm sure it gets complicated and I'm sure holding out gets you a bigger pay day so maybe that's all the guy wanted. Regardless I'd be stoked to see those two go at it. Right now I think I'd rather see Johnson/Overeem but I'll take Johnson Gus as the more legitimate fight for the LH division.

I doubt it.

Gus had a legitimate gripe. He kicked Jon Jones' ass, then got screwed in the decision. He was promised another title shot, then got it taken away from him and not given back despite an injury.

Its silly to think he was scared of AJ. He was pissed about being screwed. I would be too.

Now he's realized that pouting isn't going to solve anything, so he's going to work out his issues by beating a grown man into submission.

WAR GUS!!!!

I never called him scared. I agree with you. He got f***** over when Cormier got the shot. I understand his frustration in refusing to fight. I think he just wants to get back in there and stay fresh and take his anger out on someone, AJ being the best option and probably highest selling non-title fight for him. I was just curious if Uncle Dana said something like 'you can wait, but in waiting you may drop down the rankings and I won't pit a low numbered contender against the champ.' Kinda like what they did with Dillashaw and Soto
