Sorry Dana, you can't blame the "despicable media" for this one, as your own No. 5-ranked bantamweight Eddie Wineland -- who held the 135-pound strap in WEC -- trashes the UFC 177 main event featuring TJ Dillashaw against late-replacement Joe Soto. To be fair, I'm not sure the promotion had much choice, but there is still plenty of frustration to go around. Find out how the story ends right here.

The UFC were simply in a tricky situation. What do you do when 1/2 of your main event is unable to fight? Do you cancel the whole event or move up a lesser known fighter? The main event is obviously not the strongest but there's wasn't a ton of options on such short notice.

It is what is. Soto was the only one ready. I know guys like Cruz and Assuncao said they would be ready to step in if there was an injury but they didn't have any idea it would on 24 hours notice. Soto was already on weight and had everything in place. It was either give him a chance or punish the rest of the guys on the card who have been training this whole time.

Ya, I don't know what he expects they do. Soto was the only option with that late of notice. Barao really screwed them there.
