The 34-year-old Brazilian feels that he had done enough in the past to already have earned a title shot and thinks that the UFC official ranking shows the same.

I feel that winner of this
Should be on the 181 card in case Belfort is a scratch
Souza or mousasi. Or even
But rockhold vs bisping on the card

6 straight wins. But this is The UFC, not strikfarce. You need wins over top guys to earn that shot, not just any ole win

Carmont and Okami are hardly any ole guy. Plus, like you said, this is the UFC, people get title shots for no readily available reason. Examples of this are: Sonnen at Lhw, Cariaso, Nick Diaz fighting GSP, and the potential Carano vs Rousey fight. Mranwhile, guys with legitimate winning streaks get passed over for these guys. I think an argument can be made for Jacare deserving a title shot.

he does need to beat a highly ranked fighter before he gets that title shot, but he is definitely deserving if he wins this next fight. I personally would like to see him fight for the title.

and why is Machida still ranked #2 after losing his last fight? And Anderson still #1? time to fix those rankings

It comes down to having the fan base to buy PPVs...Machida, Silva, Diaz, and Sonnen have that in the hundreds of thousands. Jacare does not, so he needs to fight more.

He does deserve a shot after Belfort but all he has to do is avenge this loss to Mousassi which I don't see why he wouldn't consider he lost by a flukey upkick KO.

I think Jacare gots this! Just keep on Scrappin!
