After years of waiting he's finally in the UFC and set to face Donald Cerrone. But there's still tons of exciting match-ups for him afterwards. Win or lose, who do you want to see him face?

Personally, I want to see him face off against Gilbert Melendez. That has FOTY written all over it.

I'm so stoked! I'm just happy that it didn't happen too late either, as he's still 30 years old and has great potential. The Cerrone fight for me is perfect and definitely one of the one's I really wanted.
Love the Melendez fight too of he wins or loses to Pettis, especially if Alvarez beats Cerrone. Strikeforce champ vs Bellator champ who have proven themselves against top UFC guys. Would definitely be a war.
Nate Diaz, Anthony Pettis, and TJ Grant are all fights I think would make for must see TV too

I know the Cerrone fight is already signed..BUT

To prove he's 10 top: Bobby Green, Michael Johnson, Miles Jury

To prove he's a title contender: Rafael dos Anjos, Khabib, Cerrone, or Melendez

If he wins: Nurmagomedov
If he losses: Gomi or Varner
Alternative: Grant

Too bad the cerrone fight is already booked. A fight like this would bring Nate back instantly, cash money yo!

You said it all. Melendez vs Alvarez for the belt should be his 2nd fight in the promotion.

Um, Alvarez has been considered a top ten LW for about the past 6 years.

You're right, to us real fans he's a top 10 guy, but when you jump to the promotion that's #1 in the world, to casual fans you must prove yourself, I'm not being jaded just being realistic

Love how some of you think he needs to prove himself, this guy has beaten great people already, got no prooving to do.

Love to see Eddie vs Pettis
Eddie.vs Diaz
Eddie vs Gilbert M.
Eddie vs Michael J as it would be standup war, and no takedowns.

If he beats cowboy I can see Alvarez vs RDA and the winner gets a title shot

Both can survive some damage, both throw down - would love to see this.

I still think
Ufc need to make cerrone vs alvarez for next title shot
And have the winner on same card as Pettis vs Gilbert

I highly doubt Pettis fights in Dec.
Sorry to say but ufc needs to strip him if he can't fight come Dec
