Long considered the best lightweight fighter outside the UFC, Eddie Alvarez will now get his opportunity to join the Octagon elite. The 30-year-old Philadelphia native signed an exclusive contract with the UFC, the leading promotion in mixed martial arts on Tuesday following months of speculation about his future in the sport.

I thought for sure it would be TJ to build him up. Cerrone is a hell of a challenge

At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in the playground is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no props, and may the mods have mercy on your soul.

Glad to see him in the UFC finally, but I dont think this matchup is very smart. The UFC seems to be tailoring their plans to the casual fan, and to them he is just a debuting fighter, not exactly what Cerrone deserves considering his accomplishments lately. Now Alvarez has to deal with the jitters and Cowboy and his momentum. It would be smarter to build him up with a top 20 guy first and have a better chance of turning him into a bigger draw faster with a win or 2. This move does put Alvarez in position to fight for the belt much sooner though if things go well, but he wont be much of a draw fighting for the belt in his 2nd or 3rd UFC fight. Not smart at all IMO

You most likely will.

This is a much better fight than the Green fight. Bobby Green is good and all but it wouldn't be a fun fight because he likes to run around a lot. Eddie is gonna move forward and brawl....this is gonna be awesome.

This is like a fight made in heaven in my opinion. Going to be a war for sure. I like Alvarez here too. Cerrone has been on a tear but this will be his toughest test in that run.
I also think the winner of this will be a fight away from a title shot, so here's hoping both guys bring it

Nice fight... For Cowboy. This is a very tough fight for Alvarez, I don't see him winning.

Fuck Yes!!!

This fight will be a great fight to see where both fighter stand in the title picture. Cerrone wins over the Bellator Champ looks great to go along with his streak. Alvarez wins over the Streaking Cowboy launches him right up the ladder.
