Lightweight prospect Abel Trujillo has been forced out of his August 16 bout against Ross Pearson due to injury, but Pearson will still compete on the UFC Fight Night card in Bangor, Maine against former world title challenger Gray Maynard.

Maynard was scheduled to face Brazil's Fabricio Camoes on the same show, but now Camoes will be rescheduled for another bout later this year, freeing the way for this clash of former Ultimate Fighter stars.

Camoes will most likely get a fill in

This fight is much easier to pick now.

Just goes to show you, how easy 178 can change before it happens.

Damn this fight got a lot tougher for Maynard imo. If he can't keep Pearson down he will likely get finished.
I like that they put this together though, makes a lot more sense than Maynard/Camoes

Really?

I thought Maynard/Camoes was a lot easier than Maynard/Pearson...unless you mean Abel/Pearson is tougher than Maynard/Pearson in which I would agree. I think Pearson loses regardless.

Yeah, Maynard should still take this but it's a much tougher fight for him than Camoes was. Ross has the striking to hurt Gray and we all know his chin has not been the same since the Edgar fights, TJ Grant made him look silly, as did Nate Diaz. I think that if he can't out wrestle Pearson to earn a decision, he should seriously think about calling it a career before he takes more damage. Especially if Pearson knocks him out.

If Gray losses it won't be Pearson being good it'll be Gray being too old

Hard to call though 18 months ago I'd probably have picked Gray UD, now I'm swinging towards Pearson getting the finish.
