A loaded UFC 178 lineup could get even more interesting, as a bout between streaking lightweight Donald Cerrone and Bellator MMA 155-pound kingpin Eddie Alvarez has been targeted for the Sept. 27 event.

Sickkkkkkkkk fuckin fight man, I met Eddie last year at a Bellator, he was a lil wavy haha but a cool dude. Cowboy is a bad intro fight for him though, he's prolly gonna get KO'd....but before then it'll be a great scrap, maybe FOTY potential. Dope!

Eddie coming to the UFC against Cowboy, of all fighters, and coming off an injury does not bode well for Alvarez. Cowboy's more technical in the striking department and is better on the ground as well.
I got Cowboy by UD in a FOTN / FOTY candidate fight.

I still have a huge smile on my face about this. I've been waiting for what seems like forever for Eddie to be in the UFC. I hope he does well. Cerrone is on fire lately though and Eddie has only fought once in almost 2 years. It's going to be a tough debut but if he can somehow pull it off or be involved in a FOTY type fight he'll be in an excellent position. I can't wait to see it. It's on one of the most stacked cards they've had in a while too. I mean this lineup is ridiculous.
Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier Donald Cerrone vs. Eddie Alvarez Conor McGregor vs. Dustin Poirier Bobby Green vs. Jorge Masvidal Dominick Cruz vs. Takeya Mizugaki Tim Kennedy vs. Yoel Romero Amanda Nunes vs. Cat Zingano Brian Ebersole vs. John Howard Patrick Cote vs. Stephen Thompson

Good for everyone. Bellator's new regime doesn't have to listen to Eddie whine in the media all the time and he gets to be in the UFC where he'll get humbled sooner or later.
