The Ultimate Fighter: Smashes winner Robert Whittaker has announced that he will be moving up to the middleweight division for his next bout inside the UFC.

Whittaker had mediocre performance and average size at 170. He's gonna get smashed at 185.

He should be trying to move to lightweight.

You could tell he struggled to make weight at 170. He will be a smallish mw interested to see how he goes.

I think Whitaker is one of the better Welterweights in terms of skills, but way too small and not developing. Needs to be a LW with a legit camp behind him.

Strange choice. He seemed strong and very active with good cardio at WW. He also seems dedicated enough to put the effort in to fight at the right class. Seems stupid to just "try it out at MW", extinguish any hype and momentum if things dont go well, just to return to WW eventually.
