There was plenty of shuffling in the official UFC rankings this week!

Jeez....they need to get Louis Gaudinot off the FLW rankings. It's getting old. The guy has 1 win in 4 fights and he still hangs right there. There are a few other dubious and illogical rankings besides him. The journalists who create these rankings make me scratch my head in wonder.

How did Dustin Ortiz drop a spot after he just won?

lol, I agree with both of you guys but I think it's funny you both either skipped or failed to mention the big ole elephant in the room.....Conor McGregor being ranked #10 after wins over a Bantamweight Brimage, Holloway who is probably a 20-25 FW and Brandao who is probably 15-20 or the same as Holloway. I might even favor Holloway in that fight if it were to happen. Now this is where guys like Dennis Bermudez should get pissed off. He has a 6 fight win streak in the UFC, also beating Holloway (tho the fight was closer, it's still a W). I can understand the media talking about McGregor more because of the hype he brings but there is no way that he should be RANKED above a guy like Bermudez who has done nothing but win since losing TUF.

This is why I do not follow rankings what so ever. Plus the fact that they will literally change after every event, it's stupid to even keep track in my opinion. MMA is a sport where literally anything can happen and we've seen it before in the past, a fight like Serra who was probably ranked at 109th in the World at WW at the time was able to beat the concensus #1 fighter in the World at WW, GSP. Rankings mean shit besides negotiating power, really and for that reason, if I were Bermudez I would be pissed that guy who just got his third win is ranked above me, who already has 6.

What about Anthony Johnson at #5? That's crazy.

I know Kelvin Gastelum and Gunnar Nelson are so close but that would make a sick matchup.

I agree, this is a match I think would be great.

As usual the UFC rankings have a lot of glaring flaws.

If funny how ppl care bout ranking..especially mma ranking..compare UFC to Sherdog to mma junkie..they're all different and they all make me smh..I gave up on rankings long time ago..once I started sports betting I only care bout the favorite and the underdog..rankings don't really mean sh*t to me..it's sports anything can happen..

It's a little funny, this site's aggregate rankings might be worse in some categories. McGregor at #9??

You had a great post there, but I can kind of see why MacGregor is where he is. His W over Brimage was devastating, and Brimage had a decent streak going in there. He completely outclassed the long, tall, and creative striker Holloway in spite of being injured. And he just finished the guy who Bermudez has his only UFC loss to.

I myself put little to no stock in rankings, just playing devil's advocate here.
