When it says, "per-event prizes doubled," does that mean Premium members get double points on events? If so, doesn't that make it much easier for them to win?

no it means that instead of winning $100, they win $200 (real money)
they get no game advantages, just more real cash if they win

That's alright then. I can't win the money anyway, not being in the US, so I don't mind that.
