We’ll try this one more time. It will be just shy of three years to the day, but Dominick Cruz once again has a date mapped out for his return.

Cruz (19-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC) is set to return in September against Takeya Mizugaki (20-7-2 MMA, 7-2 UFC) at UFC 178 in Las Vegas. UFC officials announced the news Tuesday night following an initial report from ESPN.com‘s Brett Okamoto.

UFC 178 takes place Sept. 27 in Las Vegas, thigh a precise venue has not yet been announced. The pay-per-view main card will be headlined by a light heavyweight title rematch between champion Jon Jones and challenger Alexander Gustafsson.

Its like a no hitter, nobody should talk about it until it happens.

Ya, I'm not holding my breath for this one. If it does go down though this is the perfect fight for Cruz right now. And this is a pretty legitimate number 1 contender fight considering how shallow the top of the division is.

I won't comment on matchup till Cruz shows up. Don't mean to be a dick, but we have seen this before.

I think we all have the same gut feeling on it, hopefully his body holds up this time and stays that way or he'll be hard-pressed to stay healthy multiple fights in a row ever again even if he makes this one.

Gonna have to be the third brother and legally become Dominick Cruz Nogueira soon at this pace!

Decent comeback fight. Would of rather it'd be someone like Manny so he can get some confidence back but this will be a war either way!

Layoff or not Dominick should cruise here, Mizu wins when he controls the pace and grapplefucks you, Cruz has way too good tdd to let that happen

I agree, Cruz could be five steps slower and still possibly be the best BW in the UFC. I think given what we know of his work ethic, fight knowledge and ability, it safe to assume he isn't going to go out there and look like crap. He is a guy I generally expect to come prepared.
