UFC president Dana White didn't see it live, but he was just as upset when he learned that Jason High pushed a referee after his TKO loss to Rafael dos Anjos on Saturday night at Fight Night Albuquerque.

A little bit harsh I think.
Maybe a fine or 6 month suspension.

That is tough , can't say that I agree or disagree with it but , I don't think Dana should just blow his fucking top at first opportunity . He doesn't evaluate anything anymore .

Wow Dana White likes taking things to the extreme... Obviously it was very unprofessional of High to shove the ref, but at least give him a suspension and a fine and boot him out if he did it again. He compared this to the Paul Daley incident where Daley threw a PUNCH. This was shove, not as bad.

I have a hard time believing Dana is the only one involved in these types of decisions and thathe certainly wouldn't make it in the heat of the moment.
While I do disagree with High being cut, I don't immediately blame it on Dana being a hot head.
I feel like he gets a little too much hate after big decisions like this are made.
Feel bad for High though. I'm sure he'll get scooped up by WSOF and get some good fights there

This is worse than the Daley incident IMO. Going after another fighter after the fight is bad enough but the Referee is off limits. Had he punched a referee, he should be cut and charged with assault.

Obviously this was in the heat of the moment, but still a message has to be sent that any contact with the official will not be tolerated.

Even though I agree with the decision, I still find it disingenuous coming from Dana, because if this had been a more well known and profitable fighter there would probably be no discipline at all.

Wow. Isn't it the commission's job to dole out punishment for these things?

i chalked this up as a "heat of the moment" thing with a 6 month max suspension. never expected this. i guess the ufc considers Jason to be expendable

He committed a major sin IMO. Everyone knows YOU NEVER TOUCH A REF in any sport. Even more so one where you're a fighter. To me he should be suspended a year and I'm glad he was cut by the ufc.

That's my biggest problem with it...like most ufc determined punishments it seems that it would vary case by case. I'm trying to picture Cain doing this. "Guys it was the heat of the moment and that ****ing ***** ref ****ing blew the call, you know Cain is a firey latino!"

If the UFC really wanted to send a message refs are off limits they would have never signed Yvel way back when. With that said it's probably best for High. UFC has plenty of good light weights with better chins and WSOF and Belly both need fighters with names that aren't past their prime.

This is just a convenient way to get rid of a mid tier fighter while looking like he's taking a stand for the integrity of the sport . I've seen more than a few fighters give the ref a little shove after the fight. like others have said, there's no way a bigger name guy gets cut for this.
