Looks pretty cool so far imo. Jose Aldo vs Anthony Pettis, does the introductions and everything.
I am pretty stoked to get this game, going to have to buy a PS4 pretty soon I guess lol

Of all the reasons to drop $400 on a new system, this title shouldn't even be a blip on the radar. Yearly sports titles are wearing on the fans and it's a portion of the gaming industry that needs a lot of revamping. This game looks okay, but I am definitely getting it through GameFly.

Even as a PS4 title, this game is almost guaranteed to be half the price in a couple of months. The reviews of it have me optimistic, but the control scheme looks like it might be too much for fans. EA has a tendency to try out things that might appeal to the hardcore fan's nature more than the practicality of gaming.

Your face buttons all respond to a particular limb. There's a block button, but it isn't that effective unless you happen to press the corresponding button of the punch they threw. For instance, if they threw right cross, you'd have to hit the block button and O at the same time to minimize the damage. That extends out to combos. You need to press the corresponding button to mitigate the damage.

Casual fans aren't gonna be down with this. That's simply way too much going on during a fight sequence and I don't see the overall sales for this game being that spectacular. I'm definitely going to play this game, but I plan to feel it out through GameFly before dropping $60 on an EA game.

I'm already picking up Watch Dogs for my PS4 and Mario Kart 8 for my WiiU this month. I also picked up Mario Golf: World Tour for my 3DS XL earlier this month and my PS4 version of MLB 14: The Show. I'm kinda spent out and UFC screams "rental" more than "purchase"

It is a next-gen only title for right now. Only plans are Xbox One and PS4. Sorry, man.

Eh.. A lot of it looks like tuned up EA MMA mechanics. I'll wait and see some of the reviews before I spit up the cash.

How embarrassing is this....

The game is released June 17... three days after UFC 174 on June 14. You won't be able to replicate any fights from that card. No Baguatinov, Woodley, Cavalcante, OSP, etc...

Btw, Josh I have a PS4 now and the only game I currently own with it is The Show. Still learning so it'll be a little while before I'm willing to play you online

My PS4 username: RageOf98Children

Personally I'll be glad if it's not a game anybody can just pick up and play... MMA is a sport where you can't just go in there without knowing what you're doing.

That said that 1 round trailer bummed me out, how many headkicks they through, really seemed unrealistic and it seems like this is gonna be another style fight game whereby decisions just aren't going to happen and everybody fights like Eddie Alvarez and fights finish inside 2 rounds.

All of that said I'm more keen to see the submission and ground game more than Aldo, Pettis. Let's see how easy the lay and pray is and sub system.

Anybody see the rumoured stats? Made me feel physically sick. Rousey has better striking than Pettis.... Hendricks has 92 submission stats... 1 submission win in his entire career. Such bullshit, these stats are unbelievably biased.

Looks very much like the others aside from graphics.
Not really feeling the gameplay from what i see, doesnt feel real enough to me.
Decisions rarely happen in these games as well, hope this gets tuned up a little more before release, or ill avoid it.

This applies to all sports, Jay. You can't go into any sport without knowing what you're doing. That doesn't mean you want to make the gameplay complicated. Anybody should be able to pick up and play a sports game. That doesn't mean everybody should be good at it, but you should be able to pick up a game and have fun.

This isn't the type of logic you want to apply to a game that has had trouble selling. Great idea. Make it so complicated that only die-hard fans can play it/understand it. That's a great business model for a new game launching on a company that just lost a couple major franchise titles in the past year (Tiger Woods and NCAA Football).
