RIO DE JANEIRO -- Fabio Maldonado didn’t get the fight he was hoping for, so he has another option in mind.

Fabio is going to get KTFO! No clue how Anthony goes from Phil Davis to this non contender.

Fabio is going to take a beating worse than when he faced Glover if this fight happens.

A Johnson/Maldonado fight actually would have made more sense than the Davis/Johnson fight did. That fight made absolutely no sense but Johnson pulled it off anyhow. After Johnson's win over Davis a fight with Maldonado doesn't make much sense anymore...but using the same logic that the matchmakers used when pitting Davis and Johnson against each other a Johnson/Maldonado fight just might be a possibility. I think it would be a grueling vicious war.

IDK why Johnson would even take this fight after beating the crap out of Davis it makes no sense for him!!! He'd murder Fabio!!!

Its too soon to be considering Johnson the #5 LHW. This is once again why leap frog ranking just doesn't work. For that reason, its fine that he fight someone like Maldonado next. No, he's probably not going to KO Fabio because that guy is a zombie, but he should get an impressive win that will further legitimize him as a real contender in the division.

I could't care less if fabio was even on the ufc roster let alone getting a big fight with johnson. johnson needs to fight a top 5 guy next because he looked pretty damn good against davis. fabio is delusional

I really think Anthony Johnson should face Glover Teixeira next.
And, while we're talking about match-making, how about Matt Brown vs Hector Lombard on the same card as Johnson/Teixeira?

...a guy can dream...
