Having been rebooked, then pulled from this past weekend’s UFC 172 just three days before the event, Joe Ellenberger has a new assignment for his UFC debut.

Ellenberger (14-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) will meet Frank Trevino (12-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) at UFC Fight Night 44 in June. UFC officials announced the new lightweight booking overnight.

UFC Fight Night 44 takes place June 28 at San Antonio’s AT&T Center. Broadcast plans haven’t been announced, but the card is likely to be seen on a combination of FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass...

It's on Fox not on PPV, so I don't mind if it's watered down or not. If you don't like the looks of the card, don't watch it, simple. BUT! You risk the chance of missing out on some good fights (like Stephens vs Swanson).

You should always have a problem with major league sports putting on a watered down minor league product. Maybe that's the water torture that I have endured as a Pittsburgh Pirates fan speaking but when I turn on anything under the UFC banner it should be a whos who of fighting not the crap we have been getting. Now this last card was great

Fighters only fight 3 times a year, there are 500 fighters in the UFC (or something, I forget the number). Of those 500, only a small percentage actually have name value because they built their name in earlier UFC fights. What about the rest of the fighters that haven't built their names in the UFC yet? Are they supposed to hide and magically have their career built around them without showing their skills on television? Yeah these fighters aren't a who's who, but after some fights in the UFC, these fighters MIGHT be a who's who. That's why they are being put on television. Not to mention the UFC are trying to put an event every week. So, as I said before, if you don't like the card, don't watch it. I, on the other hand, will watch it, because I like the watch fighters grow and see how they do, regardless of their name value.
