That moment in a fight where you genuinely fear for a fighter's life. Maybe it's holding a submission too long after he's passed out. Maybe it's a few more shots past the ko. What's the first moment that comes to your mind when you think of a "Someone save him!" moment in the UFC? For me, the first thing that comes to mind is this...

I thought to myself, "That's what an unarmed person does when they're trying to kill somebody. Can someone make him stop, please?"

An honorable mention goes to Nate Diaz over Marcus Davis. Held onto the choke LONG after he was out. Please refs, for the sake of my anxiety, be on your game.

Most recent moment when I thought end the god damn fight:
Shogun Hendo II. I seriously was concerned for Hendo's health, how wrong was I.

Scariest moment I can remember:
Couture vs Bird

Odd, because the thought of Kim Couture's jaw split in two came to mind when I was making this thread. Oh, and I did say "in the UFC" in the first post, which would place it here, but what-evs.

Bellator, the amount of uppercuts Joe Warren took that one time.

Ahh my bad! Sorry dude haha

Yeah Kim Couture as a whole wins this thread.
Bob Sapp losses it.

Big Country/Big Nog is what spurred this thought.

Seeing Hendo drop the h bomb

Weidman vs. Munoz always makes me cringe.

joe warren vs pat curran. I was saying out loud "Why isn't this getting stopped?" for what felt like an entire minuet. the guy was out on his feet taking a serious beating for WAY to long. bad reffing IMO

There are several fights in the UFC that made me fear for the health/life of a fighter due to a variety of things. An example is the Guillard vs Danzig fight where I feared for Danzig's health, not necessarily for the vicious beating he took after being dropped because that was actually a decent stoppage, but more for the unsettling moaning sounds he was making after he woke up. It was really horrifying to listen to.

Then there is the Kongo Barry fight where I was sceaming at the ref to stop it as it seemed like Kongo was being kept conscious by the holy ghost controlling him like some kind of marionette doll then next thing you know he puts barry to sleep.

There is also the Wandy vs Jardine fight where Jardine only finally became mobile again as Wandy was leaving the octagon.

I'm sure we all were screaming at Lavigne to stop the Pete Sell vs Matt Brown fight. So many instances of scary kos out there.

Joe didn't know when to quit though. He kept staying on his feet making it look like he was still in it and didn't want the fight stopped. He took a beating, yes, but I really don't have that big of a problem with this stoppage.

As far as the UFC goes, my two biggest standouts were Velasquez-Rothwell and, more recently, Teixeira-Maldonado.

Yeah, Rothwell was actively standing up while that fight was being stopped, but he easily could have been beaten to death in that fight.

Same with Teixeira-Maldonado. Fabio was getting the ever loving piss beaten out of him. He has an insane chin, and in my opinion, probably took way more damage than he should have. I watch those two fights and feel like the loser in both must have been concussed 10 times over.

Edit: also, an honorable mention to any Paul Harris submission
