Because Cyborg actually has a chance at beating Rousey.

Ronda's terrified of this fight happening. She fled 145 in Strikeforce to avoid this and then talked smack about Cyborg when she realized Cyborg couldn't make 135. I don't think there's been a champ in the UFC more scared to face an opponent then Ronda is of Cyborg.

Or maybe it's just because of Cyborg pissing hot. Say what you will, right or wrong, it casts doubt on her entire career, past, present, and future. At least in my eyes.

Why would Rousey put her "legacy" on the line against an opponent who's "legacy" is tainted?

Obviously the Couture-Fedor, Wandy-Liddell of this era except its not companies holding it back. Its Dana and Ronda's fear. Which is why they choose her leftovers after they've been gone for years.

The whole carano thing is kind of an embarrassment . she hasn't fought in almost 5 years now, yet the ufc was in talks with her? This should never have been pursued, it really is just sad at this point.

That is a legitimate question though

They can pursue her, but there's no way Carano should be fighting Rousey anytime soon.

The best they can do is promote Gina as the first big name in WMMA, while quietly failing to mention Cyborg.
I think the big thing here,is that Cyborg has a very good chance of beating Rousey. I'm not saying she would but most certainly Cyborg is the doomsday opponent for Ronda.

Now lets look at this from a business point of view.
If Ronda fights Gina,it's probably going to draw just as much if not a substantial amount more than a fight with Cyborg, and it's also more likely Ronda comes out winning and the UFC can continue to make her a poster fighter.
Gina is probably going to be more cooperative with the company, lose her one fight, make a nice payday and quietly leave.
Their's already enough bad blood between Cyborg and Dana that he if Ronda did lose what a nightmare. A Cyborg/Rousey rematch would be nice but if Cyborg pisses hot if she where to win.................
.

There's absolutely no problem with Ronda fighting Gina non-title at 145 and doing a very very very good buyrate.

Ronda is quite sure Gina wouldn't be juicing at that weight, and she can't say the same about Cyborg.

If Cyborg did a year of cardio training and lost some muscle mass she could make 135 safely. Then Ronda would fight her.

Cyborg has no right to complain about Ronda picking who she would have a catchweight fight with.

Ronda and Zuffa aren`t scared. UFC offered to pay for Cyborgs weight cut and her training with Dolce. All she had to do was show up. shed some muscle and lose the weight. Dolce said she could do it no problem. But Cyborg knows her best chance of beating Ronda is by having a strength and weight advantage over her so she turned it down. At 145lbs, Ronda would be about -125 favourite, at 135lbs Ronda becomes a bigger favourite, IMO. -170 approximately.

Jake Ellenberger said Rousey is freaky strong and was tossing him on his head often, If she can toss Jake she can toss Cyborg.

Cyborg turned down a UFC contract (worth a million plus with PPV points), and a UFC title-shot against Ronda with free cardio and weight training from Mike Dolce (the legend of weight cutting) so she could fight the Fiona Muxlow's in Invicta for $15k. That say's it all to me. Who would do that? You don't turn down an offer like that unless you know your muscle is your only advantage. Cyborg was taking roids when she was already twice as strong as everyone else in her weight class, she doesn't have confidence in her technique.

She didn't even attempt to cut the weight. She met Dolce, said no and never went back. This was after Cyborg was busted for roids and when she was smaller, she didn't try and lean down or shed muscle slowly, she packed it back on so she could fight in obscurity for a fraction of what she could be earning in the UFC, that's either fear or a level of stupidity beyond anything we've seen in MMA before.

UFC says they don't want a 145lb division cause there is no depth at 145 in WMMA, and they're right, Cyborg beat Marloes twice and she's the 2nd best 145lber, Gina and a bunch of no-names for the most part. There is nothing keeping her at 145 but her love of muscle.
For women to be in shape and still weigh 145lbs they have to be either short and fat (like Muxlow), really tall (like Coenen), or a bodybuilder like Cyborg, It's the female equivalent of the men's SHW division. All the good female athletes weigh 135lbs or less. UFC knew Cyborg was a star but didn't care about WMMA until 135 developed a star. They added a 115lb division but still have no interest in adding a 145lb division. Cyborg is screwing herself over and Ronda is laughing all the way to the bank. Why should Ronda go out of her way to give Cyborg a 10lbs muscle advantage? She's the UFC champ and the biggest star in WMMA, she doesn't have to chase down anyone.

Zuffa doesn't want a 145 lbs. division or they would've signed Cyborg despite her not cutting the weight. Why would they want Ronda to fight Cyborg at 145lbs, when they don`t even have or want a 145 lbs division? . division.

Ronda could fight Gina at 205. She doesn't need to be in shape or even train to beat Gina. Cyborg is a much tougher opponent so Ronda wouldn't want to be out of shape for her, just so cyborg can have a 10lb muscle advantage over her.

Karo (who trained with the same people Ronda did) was beating trained HW men in mma with his Judo (when he was only 16 and weighed 175lbs) Technique beats strength 10 times out of 10.

This whole Cyborg vs Rhonda fight is fucking bullshit...I don't think anyone wants it to happen. Cyborg would have made the weight by now, the UFC brass would have had a contract by now, and Rhonda would have been in Camp by now. Fuck a superfight...The UFC carrot on a string.

Nothing like giving Rondah and Zuffa and giant, obvious rhetorical question to ponder. It's pretty easy to see why Cyborg will be kept away from Dana
s golden goose.

First, you're biased. Second, you contradict yourself. If strength is overcome by technique 10/10 ronda should be fine at 145. Also, on the opposite side of that coin maybe ronda's best chance at beating cyborg is when cyborg is at 50% from an overly exhasting weight cut. Lastly, karo? Really? That made me lol
