Even if Johny Hendricks (15-2 MMA, 10-2 UFC) fails to make weight for Saturday’s UFC 171 pay-per-view headliner, opponent Robbie Lawler (22-9 MMA, 7-3 UFC) will still fight for the title.

If Hendricks misses weight and wins the fight then GSP will be the first fighter to defend his title without fighting at all.

That's a new level of GOAT folks.

Just watched the weigh-ins. Hendricks looked nervous as soon as he came out the back and was literally shaking on the scale and stuttering a little bit while Joe interviewed him. Doesn't look good.

Dana's blaming the hotel scale but he made weight in the end so the fight is still on I guess. I'm starting to believe Lawler is going to be a ufc champ.

Did anyone else have an issue?

THREE total fighters missed on the first try.

Lawler had an astonishingly easy/mediocre path to this title shot. Since his loss to Larkin, he KO'd Koscheck who has absolutely no chin anymore, KO'd Voelker who's a scrub, and barely outpointed Rory.

Hendricks has beaten a who's who of the best fighters in the division and in the last 4 years has only lost a very close (controversial) fight to GSP. Even on a bad day, I think Johny beats Lawler easily.
